Bored Sunday

No real demands this Sunday afternoon. Shot some buds in the yard. Using the lensbaby.

Revised Sunset

I recently attended a Wasatch Camera Club meeting that was a bring what you want people to comment on. I took a photo that I have posted here before. I have a version with less clarity to soften the noise... a comment from a previous showing.... The suggestion to add clarity and darken the blacks seemed comfortable. This is the result:

Salt Flats Model Shoot

Wasatch Camera Club arranged for several models to be on site on the Salt Flats near Wendover. These are some of what my camera saw. Of course I played with Clarity on some....

Home Coming

I had a chance to shoot Stepson Logan and his GF Stevie. Thought that these were keepers. Yes, I am a fan of lowering clarity and vignetting.

More Clarity or Less Clarity

These were two shots from the Great Salt Lake this evening. In Lightroom I played with the Clarity slider. I like both for different reasons. Less clarity gives a dreamy look. More Clarity adds contrast and sharpness. I'd love to hear opinions.

Tour of Utah

Stage 6 (final) of the Tour of Utah ran over the top of Empire Pass (just below Guardsman Pass). Levi Leipheimer was the first over the top and thus the King of the Mountain. The first photo is of that KOM point. The second is just below the summit. This the largest part of the peleton. The strenous climb from the Heber Valley spread the riders out.

Split Toning

I shouldn't have been told about split toning in Lightroom 4.1. Kind of fun to experiment... and Yes... I love vignetting too... another Lightroom feature. This was shot from a group a while ago. I used a Lensbaby and adjustments via split toning....

Suberbike

I just spent some time working on family photos and took a break going through my World Superbike race photos. A few moves in Lightroom 4.1 and .... well.... I had fun with it.

More Racing Photos

Here are a few that I have worked on a little. From the Utah Grand Prix weekend and the World Super Bike weekend.

World Superbike Race

World Superbikes were in town this weekend. Shot a record 1685 exposures from 1:00pm to 5:30pm. Most are just racing shots. The series of shots below is a shortened version of the actual sequence. But I think you will get the point.....

The race was stopped for over an hour as the crews tried to clean up the oil on the track you can see from the final image.

These last three are of the winner. Note how his foot slipped off of the foot peg when doing a wheelie.
